Are you starting up a business? Have you been running a business for a while, but are looking for growth, a strategy, some help, some inspiration? Do you wish there was somewhere you could get some advice, maybe listen to some talks, ask some questions about running a business?
Are you just thinking about giving up your day job and starting a business?
If you’re in the Frome area during the week of 8-12th August then you are in luck. We’re really pleased to be helping out at the forthcoming (and free) Old School Start Ups Small Business Festival.
Everything takes place at The Old Church School, Butt’s Hill in Frome. From 6pm-8pm Monday to Friday the building is given over to a series of clinics, talks and workshops, all focussed specifically on running a successful start up or small business.

Left to right: Nicola Whyte, David Evans, Ed Thomas

The (nearly) free office – Tuesday 9th: 6-8pm
Ed Thomas of Doubleshot and David Evans of Espace Solutions team up to deliver a talk showing you how to get hold of free, or cheap online software to run your business. From accounts to word processing via blogs and project management – there’s a cost-effective way to manage the logistics of your business. Find out how Ed and David have kept overheads down and maximised profits while running the succesful Fancy network of developers, designers and team members.
Small but Social – Thursday 11th: 6-8pm
David Evans of Espace Solutions gives a talk on how social media can work for your business. Including understanding social media, exploding the myths, finding your voice and narrative, building and engaging your network, and much more. David has developed and run highly successful, huge social media campaigns for major clients such as the Prince’s Trust, and Headline books, delivering proven results; but he has also advised many small businesses and start-ups on their social media strategy. Discover why you cannot afford to ignore social media.
There are a host of other speakers besides us, the festival goes on for the working week. Book for the Old School Start Ups talks here, it’s free, but spaces are very limited. At the time of posting there are only a few places left on each talk.
We hope to see you there.
