“As Director of The Prince’s Rainforests Project, I hired Espace to develop a website, to limited budget and timescale, which would provide a compelling explanation of the Project’s challenge and aspirations. They accomplished this within budget and timescale and such was the impact of the website within Clarence House, The Prince of Wales asked to meet the Espace team to congratulate them. The fact that they remain developing this site two years later is testimony to their creativity, reliability and attention to detail.” – James Heneage, Project Director |
Espace has been working with The Prince’s Rainforests Project for over two years. The project involved working closely and collaborating with several different teams, from advertisers to media managers, software developers to Royal publicity teams.
The nature of working with a Royal subject meant deadlines were often short and the brief constantly changing. We worked well in this pressured environment and were often used by the project directors as trusted advisors to assess new teams and ideas from other groups.
Espace are one of the few teams who have been with The Prince’s Rainforests Project from the launch in 2008. Post-campaign, the two PRP websites continue to pull in large numbers of visitors and Espace Solutions continue to be trusted with their management.
- Espace Solutions were commissioned to develop the initial launch site for The Prince’s Rainforests Project (PRP). The site was initially designed to appeal to policy makers, but also included the ability for the public to sign up.
- We oversaw the running of site and continued development with a third party developer, Alberon.
- Espace and Alberon then built a schools version of the site, offering lesson plans and resources for teachers while providing additional content for children and their parents.
- We then developed an online strategy, which included the use of short animated videos. Production of these videos was also overseen by Espace.
- In anticipation of the relaunch of the main website, the schools website was redesigned by Espace.
- The main campaign site was relaunched using software developed by Blue State Digital (Obama’s online campaign team)
- Throughout the campaign, Espace were key to informing the development of partner company initiatives.
- Espace Solutions worked alongside Blue State Digital to run the campaign site and develop new content.
- We also worked to develop the online offering, particularly the offering for partners of the project, creating an online toolkit with flash banners, posters, widgets, films and copy for partners to use to spread the message
- For the duration of the project, Espace were often given the task of managing various production companies and partners involved in creating parts of the online strategy, troubleshooting where necessary.
- The RainforestSOS campaign drew to a close in December 2009 but The Prince’s Rainforests Project is still in operation and Espace continues to manage their websites.
